Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: 100% onsite at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado; no formal hybrid or remote option. Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.

Basic compensation: $110,000–$138,000 per year in Colorado Springs.

What you will do

• Support Operations and Sustainment activities for MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, terminals, and software applications.
• Engage government, corporate, DoW agency, and commercial stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
• Apply government systems engineering, integration, and test processes to legacy and transitioning space-based telecommunications capabilities.
• Develop, analyze, and maintain systems engineering documentation and capability requirements.
• Manage technical baselines and apply CMMI frameworks and DoW acquisition practices.
• Travel up to 20% to domestic and international locations as directed by the government customer.

Requirements

• Active DoW SECRET clearance is required for consideration.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of SE&I experience associated with system acquisitions and/or Operations and Sustainment.
• Expertise in requirements development and analysis and systems engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of Agile software development processes and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and teamwork skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of experience in a DoW program office and familiarity with DoW acquisition processes.
• 6+ years of experience with strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems.
• Experience in a CMMI environment and with Change Management and Configuration Management processes.
• PMI Program Management Professional certification.
