Senior Systems Engineer (Communication & Sensing Systems)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; travel up to 25% required.

Salary: $180,500–$285,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $224,500–$336,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead system-level design and analysis for advanced communication and sensing systems across diverse mission scenarios.
• Develop and validate algorithms for signal processing, control theory, system optimization, communications, and sensing.
• Design and adapt waveforms for emerging technologies and mission-critical requirements.
• Implement algorithms in firmware and software and bridge theoretical models with practical deployment.
• Support system bring-up, hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, requirements, firmware, software, analysis, and integration teams from concept through deployment.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, with emphasis on control theory, signal processing, and/or digital communications.
• 10+ years of experience in algorithmic system design, modeling, and deployment for complex systems.
• Proficiency in C++, C, MATLAB, and Python.
• Deep expertise in RF systems, waveform design, trade studies, and performance analysis.
• Experience performing system-level analysis and translating high-level requirements into technical designs.
• Active US Secret or Top Secret clearance and US citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Experience with processors, memory, FPGAs, CPLDs, microcontrollers, and networking interfaces.
• Familiarity with requirements flow-down, verification, and validation.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools and distributed multidisciplinary teams.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SAP.
