Construction Manager (Heavy Civil Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Oversee contractor performance for assigned construction packages or groups of contracts from preconstruction through closeout.
• Administer construction contracts, including submittals, requests for information, notices, correspondence, change proposals, and payment applications.
• Review critical-path schedules, sequencing, delays, costs, quantities, and forecasts against approved budgets and completion dates.
• Coordinate inspection, materials testing, quality assurance, safety, environmental compliance, and resolution of non-conforming conditions.
• Lead progress meetings, site walks, issue-resolution sessions, and interfaces with utilities, railroads, airports, transit operations, designers, and adjacent contracts.
• Oversee punch-list completion, as-built and record-document turnover, warranty documentation, commissioning, and transition to operations and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, construction engineering, engineering technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of construction management experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects valued above $500 million.
• Experience overseeing contractor performance on behalf of an owner or agency and administering publicly funded construction contracts.
• Experience evaluating change proposals and contractor pricing for entitlement, cost impact, and schedule impact.
• Ability to review CPM schedules and assess the effects of changes and delays on critical paths and completion dates.
• Working knowledge of construction safety, quality assurance, and OSHA construction standards, plus experience with construction management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, or Kahua.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or certifications and licenses such as CCM, PMP, PE, or OSHA 30-Hour Construction.
• Experience leading construction packages exceeding $100 million or programs exceeding $1 billion.
• Experience with highways, roads, bridges, rail transit, operating airports, or water and wastewater facilities.
• Experience leading owner-side construction management and inspection staff.
• Proficiency with Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other KPI dashboard software.
