Project Manager (Commercial Construction)

Location: Detroit, Michigan, United States; primarily on-site at construction projects with local travel and possible long-distance or overnight travel

What you will do

• Manage project scope, deliverables, staffing, schedules, budgets, risks, logistics, and change management.
• Communicate with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers throughout project delivery.
• Prepare bid packages, manage the construction manager bid process, conduct bid reviews, and support hard-bid teams.
• Coordinate estimating, scheduling, value engineering, reporting, project documentation, contracts, bulletins, field work orders, and change orders.
• Establish subcontract agreements, define trade scopes and performance expectations, and lead trade contractor relations.
• Drive job-site safety, coordinate corrective actions, and contribute to business development and pursuit strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least five years of commercial construction experience in a progressively responsible leadership role.
• Training or coursework in construction management, project management, safety, or communication.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control, with the ability to lead and supervise large groups.
• Strong planning, organization, prioritization, problem-solving, communication, and risk-management skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
