Building Operator (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Onsite in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, or Toronto, Canada

Salary: CAD 67,629–70,844 per year

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, boilers, pumps, generators, compressors, building automation, and related mechanical systems.
• Start, shut down, and regulate mechanical and electrical equipment, including rooftop units and heating systems.
• Monitor computerized controls, gauges, alarms, and system performance to identify irregularities and take corrective action.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies while coordinating specialized contractors and service providers.
• Inspect equipment, maintain mechanical and electrical rooms, support indoor air quality, and document maintenance findings.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of related experience in a commercial real estate environment.
• 5th or 4th Class Power Engineering Certification, BES I & II, or an equivalent designation.
• Strong communication, customer service, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Applicants must be authorized to work full time in Canada; visa sponsorship is not available.
