People & Culture Business Partner – Retail – Salomon North America

Location: Ogden, Utah, USA; hybrid work schedule. Travel throughout the U.S. is 50% or more, with most travel supporting California locations.

What you will do

• Support full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for new retail store openings.
• Partner with Store Managers on hiring needs, turnover mitigation, seasonal workforce planning, and people systems.
• Lead complex employee relations matters from investigation through resolution, including accommodations, leaves, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Advise retail leaders on employment law compliance and coach them on performance management, conflict resolution, and team development.
• Build scalable HR practices, tools, training, and learning pathways for retail growth.
• Collaborate with Retail leadership, Talent Acquisition, Global People & Culture, and Learning & Development teams.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in retail or a consumer-facing environment.
• Demonstrated success in high-volume retail recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
• Hands-on HR business partner experience supporting employee populations in California and deep practical knowledge of California employment and labor laws are required.
• Experience supporting multi-site teams across diverse geographies and coordinating with global organizations across time zones.
• Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and digital communication platforms; Workday, SmartRecruiters, and ADP experience are relevant.
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, consultative, problem-solving, and influencing skills.

• Experience with learning and development initiatives or partnership with L&D teams.
• Experience in a fast-paced, scaling retail environment.
