HR Business Partner

What you will do

• Advise founders, leaders, and managers on HR matters and coach them through people-related decisions.
• Lead organisational design, talent reviews, and scalable people processes as the company grows.
• Design and deliver performance review cycles, goal-setting frameworks, feedback tools, and development conversations.
• Manage employee relations, probation processes, onboarding, induction, contracts, and employment documentation.
• Maintain policies and the employee handbook while supporting compliance with employment law across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee HR data accuracy, HRIS administration, payroll coordination, and external people providers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of HR experience, including business partnering or HR generalist work in a deep-tech, R&D, or engineering-led startup or scale-up.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and exposure to international employment contexts; US experience is desirable.
• Experience building scalable people processes in a growing company.
• Ability to manage employee-relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
• Independent judgment, pragmatism, and the ability to operate in ambiguous and complex environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a credible, empathetic, and commercially minded approach.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing or optimising HRIS, performance tools, ATS, and scalable workflows.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification.
