Focus on building relationships with researchers and procurement teams, managing pipeline and forecasts, and driving new business through close while travelling extensively across the territory.

Location: US-WA-Remote; field-based across Eastern Washington, the Idaho panhandle, Eastern Oregon, and academic accounts throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. The role requires approximately 75% overnight travel, often up to three weeks per month at college campuses and customer sites.

Salary: $110,250–$183,750 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Grow market share for chromatography, mass spectrometry, consumables, and services across academic and commercial accounts.
  • Prospect for new customers and opportunities, create demand, and manage deals from first contact through close.
  • Build long-term relationships with researchers, faculty, laboratory managers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute territory plans covering universities and commercial accounts across the Pacific Northwest.
  • Partner with product specialists, consumables and supplies teams, service teams, and other colleagues.
  • Maintain sales forecasts, Salesforce CRM records, expense reports, and business reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or another physical or life science discipline.
  • At least 1 year of relevant scientific, laboratory, field sales, or customer-facing experience.
  • Basic understanding of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related analytical workflows.
  • Demonstrated success in hunter-oriented sales, including prospecting, pipeline development, and new business acquisition.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles, negotiate contracts, work with procurement organizations, and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 75% of the time; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Nice to have

  • Three or more years of sales experience in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technology, life sciences, or a related scientific market.
  • Experience selling to academic, university, government, or research laboratory environments.
  • Technical knowledge of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or related analytical workflows.
  • Consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing market share.
