Principal Architect (Enterprise Transformation & Portfolio)

Location: Remote eligible, associated with Anchorage, Alaska, United States

Salary: $116,683–$194,472 per year

What you will do

• Define and communicate enterprise architecture direction, transformation strategy, architecture runway, and technology modernization plans.
• Develop target-state architectures, transition states, standards, reference designs, principles, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews and governance forums, evaluating alternatives and recommending fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Manage architecture risks, dependencies, technical debt, lifecycle considerations, exceptions, and technology rationalization.
• Partner with business, product, engineering, delivery, operations, and leadership stakeholders throughout planning, design, delivery, and operationalization.
• Advance architecture methods, reusable patterns, communities of practice, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and simplification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Data Management, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may substitute year for year.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience across at least two architecture or technology disciplines.
• Experience leading complex architecture initiatives and guiding cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in architecture modeling and documentation, business and technology alignment, systems design and integration, strategy and roadmap development, governance, standards, lifecycle planning, and risk and dependency management.
• Ability to work in a standard office or home-office setting, support assigned shifts, and respond outside core business hours during emergencies.
• Remote workers must comply with remote-work policies and agreements.

Nice to have

• 10–12 years of experience, an advanced degree, MBA, or nationally recognized architecture, technology, or executive-level expertise.
• Relevant telecom industry or job-specific certifications.
• TOGAF, FEAC, Open CA, CITA, SABSA, CCAr, AWS, Azure, GCP, CISSP, CISM, Agile, or SAFe certifications.
