High Voltage Field Service Engineer

Location: Remote from the United States; field work requires extensive travel by car and airplane to substations across the country. All work is performed outdoors.

Salary: $77,200–$143,300 annually, plus a 10% annual incentive target.

What you will do

• Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and modify high-voltage circuit breakers rated from 72.5kV to 550kV.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using hand tools, voltage multimeters, and specialized test equipment.
• Execute field assignments independently while managing job scope, documentation, and reporting.
• Communicate technical findings and work-scope updates to customers, field teams, engineering support, and site personnel.
• Support commissioning activities, outage schedules, and project execution in electrical substation environments.
• Follow strict safety and quality procedures during outdoor field work.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with high-voltage circuit breakers or electrical substations.
• Experience commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying high-voltage circuit breakers.
• Proficiency with hand tools, voltage multimeters, and specialized electrical test equipment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Technical communication and documentation skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
