Automation Engineer - Field Service (PLC/SCADA)

Location: Remote within the United States; field service travel to customer and hirify.global sites is required, up to 80%, mostly domestic with some international travel. Houston, Texas is listed in the conditions.

Base salary: $97,370–$129,220 annually, plus a 10% annual incentive target.

What you will do

• Commission customized automation solutions and maintain and troubleshoot marine automation and control systems.
• Test, commission, troubleshoot, and update integrated system drawings in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
• Plan workloads and technical tasks to deliver projects on schedule.
• Provide direct technical support to customers through the case management system.
• Manage remote connection systems to customer sites and travel extensively to industrial facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience in marine or a related industry.
• Hands-on PLC/SCADA experience with automation or control-system solution design, service, or commissioning.
• Familiarity with North American and international codes and standards, OSHA, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong organization, communication, customer relationship, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Willingness to travel extensively in the United States and work the hours required at industrial job sites.

Nice to have

• Marine, drilling, or offshore production experience.
• Variable frequency drive systems experience.
• Hands-on Siemens Automation experience with S7, TIA, or PCS7.
