Maintenance Conveyor Technician

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; onsite at a distribution center. Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, with overtime and early or late repair coverage as needed.

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform diagnostic checks on powered conveyor systems and related equipment.
• Clear conveyor jams and identify root causes of recurring problems.
• Complete preventive maintenance and assess whether equipment issues require immediate repair or can wait until the next maintenance cycle.
• Work from mechanical drawings, parts breakdowns, and electrical schematics.
• Wire 480V motors and accessories, including brakes, soft starts, and VFDs.
• Document repairs, parts used, and task completion times in the maintenance database while supporting building, lift equipment, and grounds maintenance as needed.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining powered conveyor systems and associated equipment.
• Knowledge of 120V and 24VDC circuits, 120/480V motors, VFDs, and related electrical components.
• Ability to follow mechanical drawings and parts breakdowns; ability to read electrical prints is beneficial.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements.
• Ability to work at heights of more than 30 feet, climb multiple flights of stairs, and work over and under conveyor lines.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain a positive attitude, and work overtime when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rapistan/Dematic or SDI conveyors.
• Welding or machining experience.
