Senior Engineering Technical Program Manager (Jira Administration)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work

Salary: CAD 108,000–149,000 annual base salary, plus applicable equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence, Rovo, and AI integration ecosystem for Okta Research & Design.
• Define and implement AI-led strategies for portfolio planning, engineering tracking, sprint execution, and reporting.
• Design standardized workflows aligned with product development, secure SDLC, release management, and change control practices.
• Improve data integrity and executive reporting for resource allocation, dependencies, priorities, cycle time, lead time, and pipeline health.
• Manage configuration requests, JQL filters, permissions, automation rules, custom fields, and change-control risk assessments.
• Create documentation, training, and enablement packages while partnering with engineering, product, design, QA, security, and agile teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on enterprise-scale Jira and Confluence administration experience supporting 500+ users.
• Proficiency with Jira Query Language, basic SQL, or equivalent database queries.
• Experience integrating and scaling AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, Atlassian Rovo, or GitHub Copilot into product development workflows.
• Strong understanding of agile and lean development, Scrum, SAFe or portfolio planning, PDLC, SDLC, CI/CD, and infrastructure deployment models.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira Service Management, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, and Faros.ai.
• Ability to extend Atlassian functionality through scripting, macros, and API automations.
• Experience troubleshooting application and configuration event logs.
• Experience designing AI-augmented workflows such as automated ticket enrichment, AI-driven retrospectives, or LLM-assisted reporting.
