Senior Program Officer, Modernized High School Math

Location: Seattle, WA, or Washington, DC; limited remote work may be available from a US state only. Relocation assistance is offered for candidates hired into an office role who are not within commuting distance.

Salary: $190,100–$294,700 USD annually; $209,100–$324,100 USD annually in Seattle and Washington, DC.

What you will do

• Lead a multi-phase initiative to modernize the high school mathematics sequence, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
• Manage grants and investments with standards, assessment, curriculum, and professional development partners.
• Build consensus among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, publishers, and state education agencies around modernized math expectations.
• Design publisher engagement strategies that influence curriculum business models, incentives, and product roadmaps.
• Develop a campaign and co-funder coalition to support the initiative’s goal of reaching more than one million students annually by 2035.
• Synthesize policy, standards, market, and field intelligence into recommendations for leadership and external partners.

Requirements

• Advanced degree or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Significant experience in K-12 education policy, standards development, or curriculum strategy, with expertise in high school mathematics.
• Experience with grantmaking, proposal development, and grant budgets.
• Experience managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives with external partners and influencing without direct authority.
• Experience developing campaign strategies, coalitions, co-funder relationships, and field-building efforts in K-12 education reform.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required; immigration-related sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of major K-12 curriculum publishers, including their business models, incentives, and product development processes.
• Experience influencing publishers toward evidence-based instructional approaches.
