Systems Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Benicia, California, United States. Travel required for approximately 10% of the time; remote and onsite support may be provided to field personnel. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and design complex components, modules, and subsystems while contributing to system engineering specifications.
• Lead architecture brainstorming, evaluate design approaches, and drive subsystem architecture selection.
• Analyze requirements and multidisciplinary systems involving electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software design.
• Build or procure subsystem prototypes, qualify designs, and test compliance with detailed specifications and reliability requirements.
• Support system integration during product assembly and final testing, including troubleshooting serviceability and manufacturability issues.
• Coordinate with project marketing, management, suppliers, and field support personnel, including customer-facing product or system demonstrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4–7 years of professional experience; experience in the semiconductor industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting, servicing, or operating metrology equipment, including X-ray, optical, SEM, or TEM systems.
• Strong hands-on skills in optical microscopy and related characterization techniques.
• MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field is relevant to the role.
