Caseworker (Ukrainian or Russian Speaking)

Location: Sacramento, California, USA. Hybrid work combines the IRC Sacramento office, remote work, and field work throughout the service delivery area. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm; occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Pay rate: $29.10–$30 per hour.

What you will do

• Coordinate pre- and post-arrival services, including housing, food, medical care, transportation, and orientation.
• Provide client-centered case management, referrals, advocacy, and assistance with benefits, healthcare, education, mental health services, appointments, and interpretation.
• Conduct intakes, assess needs, and develop individualized self-sufficiency plans and timelines.
• Monitor client progress, address barriers, and coordinate with colleagues, community agencies, and service providers.
• Maintain detailed case notes, databases, files, reports, and client interaction records.
• Travel throughout the service area using a personal insured vehicle or public transportation and support volunteers or interns when needed.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, migration studies, public health, refugee studies, development, immigration law, or a related field, or at least one year of related professional experience.
• Relevant human services experience required; at least two years of experience is strongly preferred.
• Fluent English and proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian are required.
• Experience with refugees, immigrants, asylum-seeking families, or individuals without status is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of the U.S. immigration system and immigrant rights, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal insured vehicle; proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital data-entry tools.
