Senior Engineering Manager, Grafana Frontend

Location: Republic of Ireland (Remote)

Base compensation: EUR 133,600–160,320 annually, plus Restricted Stock Units.

What you will do

• Lead the distributed Frontend Platform and Navigation squads, supporting performance, delivery, accountability, and customer outcomes.
• Hire, plan team capacity, coach senior engineers, develop technical leaders, and address performance gaps.
• Lead customer, community, and internal-user discovery and translate research and usage evidence into roadmaps and priorities.
• Partner with Product, Design, and engineering leaders to manage dependencies, trade-offs, milestones, risks, and rollouts.
• Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, developer experience, accessibility, architecture, tooling, reliability, navigation, search, and multitenant capabilities.
• Drive AI and automation adoption, participate in the engineering management on-call rota, and improve operational reliability and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Significant experience managing senior engineers, building healthy teams, developing technical leaders, and providing clear feedback.
• Strong technical foundation in modern web or frontend systems and the ability to evaluate architectural and engineering-quality trade-offs.
• Experience turning ambiguous cross-team problems into clear priorities and measurable results while managing delivery and operational risks.
• Strong product and customer judgment, connecting engineering investments with user, developer, and business outcomes.
• Clear written communication and the ability to work effectively in a remote, globally distributed organization.
• Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work and guiding teams in their effective adoption.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript, or comparable large-scale frontend ecosystems.
• Experience leading developer platform teams supporting plugins or extensions.
• Experience with navigation, search, information architecture, or resource-management products.
• Experience delivering multitenant SaaS, major platform migrations, or widely adopted open-source products.
