Senior Software Engineer I (React)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid ways of working with an in-office experience

Salary: $128,842–$209,368/year base pay for candidates based in the United States; OTE of $144,000–$234,000/year including bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Design and build foundational frontend systems, reusable components, tools, and development patterns.
• Lead major projects from technical design and implementation through testing, rollout, and operational follow-through.
• Improve developer experience across a large TypeScript and React codebase through abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples.
• Build polished, accessible, performant, and consistent customer-facing product experiences.
• Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams on cross-cutting frontend problems.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of technical impact.
• Advanced modern frontend development skills, especially TypeScript and React.
• Experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure.
• Strong focus on user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Ability to work effectively in a large frontend codebase with multiple stakeholders.
• Clear communication and effective cross-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience building design systems or component libraries.
• Experience with Cypress, Jest, code generation, linting, codemods, or other developer tooling.
• Experience with internationalization, localization, accessibility, or Ruby on Rails.
