Senior Principal, Enterprise Strategy & Strategic Opportunities

Location: Bloomfield, Connecticut, United States. Occasional or permanent work from home requires cable broadband or fiber internet with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Annual salary: $175,100–$291,800, depending on experience and geographic location. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own high-priority enterprise questions and convert ambiguous business problems into decision-ready strategic options.
• Evaluate growth opportunities, strategic adjacencies, partnerships, capability plays, and business development pathways.
• Develop innovation theses, future-state models, growth platforms, opportunity cases, and investment logic.
• Lead enterprise positioning, competitive strategy, long-term strategy, portfolio analysis, and strategic planning work.
• Mobilize cross-functional teams and influence business unit, corporate function, and senior executive stakeholders.
• Prepare executive narratives, presentations, and recommendations for leadership and Board discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business development, investment banking, private equity, innovation, or related strategic leadership roles.
• Experience leading enterprise-level strategy, growth strategy, critical problem solving, or business opportunity work in complex organizations.
• Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgment, structured problem-solving, financial analysis, scenario evaluation, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to lead ambiguous, high-consequence work autonomously and influence senior executives without direct authority.
• Experience mobilizing cross-functional teams and building trusted relationships across matrixed organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, health services, insurance, pharmacy, or adjacent industries.
• Experience with portfolio strategy, growth platforms, business model innovation, partnerships, or inorganic opportunity evaluation.
• Experience supporting Board, ELT, or comparable senior governance discussions.
• Experience developing talent and leading project teams across formal and informal reporting lines.
