TL;DR

Location: Houston, Texas; onsite role. United States citizenship required.

What you will do

  • Define scheduling priorities, workflows, policies, and service standards for Institute facilities.
  • Manage booking and utilization of the auditorium, Moon and Mars simulation environments, conference rooms, and other shared spaces.
  • Resolve complex scheduling conflicts through prioritization, negotiation, and real-time problem solving.
  • Coordinate scheduling needs for tenants, faculty, staff, external partners, tours, conferences, events, and external rentals.
  • Supervise one or two schedulers, delegate daily work, and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager and Assistant Director to align scheduling with operational capacity and improve stakeholder experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven years of related experience.
  • United States citizenship is required because the position is security sensitive.
  • Strong organizational, planning, communication, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise sound judgment in complex operational situations.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, tenants, external partners, and other stakeholder groups.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing complex scheduling in multi-use or high-demand environments.
  • Experience in higher education, research facilities, or multi-tenant operations.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with external clients, partners, or tenants.
