Traveling Apprentice Lineman - Transmission

Location: United States; traveling position with most work located in the southern states

What you will do

• Construct and maintain underground, transmission, distribution, substation, and wind-farm electrical infrastructure.
• Set towers and poles, string new wire, and maintain or repair overhead lines.
• Install and maintain insulators, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
• Assemble and erect substations and initiate field projects.
• Follow OSHA, customer, company, and industry safety requirements.
• Travel to field locations, work additional hours when required, and maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and utility crew groundwork.
• Must meet driver qualification requirements under FMCSR Parts 382 and 391.
• Transmission line and substation experience is preferred.
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license is preferred.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home, work at heights up to and above 100 feet, follow directions, communicate effectively, and comply with safety rules.
