Line Mechanic Fully Qualified (East Springfield, MA)

Location: East Springfield, MA; must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location

Salary: Starting at $59.78 per hour at Step 1 as of October 1, 2025; progresses under the union contract

What you will do

• Perform line mechanic assignments, including transmission work and line construction and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in planned overtime when required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to line work.
• Climb and work on poles, ladders, and other elevated structures.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including in adverse weather conditions.
• Support emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, hours, or location when called upon.

Requirements

• At least one year of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass the CAST test.
• Hold a valid driver's license and obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Meet the physical requirements established through medical placement examinations.
• Be able to work a four-day, ten-hour schedule and Saturdays as a shift worker.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.
