Shift Lead, Protect (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Mojave, California, United States

Pay range: $28–$40 USD per hour

What you will do

• Lead shift operations, including assignments, patrol schedules, breaks, and coverage adjustments.
• Serve as the first escalation point for Security Officers and lead responses to incidents, safety events, and emergencies.
• Oversee access control, visitor verification, badge issuance, contractor escorts, and compliance audits.
• Review incident reports, shift logs, and other security documentation.
• Conduct and verify patrols of buildings, perimeter areas, and critical infrastructure.
• Onboard, train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to Security Officers while coordinating security support for events and launches.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California BSIS Guard Card or ability to obtain one before employment.
• At least four years of experience in security operations, preferably in an industrial, aerospace, or manufacturing environment.
• At least one year of experience in a lead, shift lead, or supervisory security role.
• Ability to work all required shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in heat, wind, cold, and varied terrain.

Nice to have

• Experience leading incident response and coordinating with emergency services.
• BSIS or equivalent training in de-escalation, report writing, or defensive tactics.
• Working knowledge of access control, visitor management, and CCTV systems.
• Strong communication, judgment, customer service, and independent decision-making skills.
