AVP, Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Dallas, TX, United States; hybrid work policy with a Work From Anywhere Month benefit.

Base compensation: $127,000–$170,000 annually, plus discretionary annual bonus and incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Partner with business leaders and portfolio companies to identify AI, automation, and data-driven opportunities.
• Design, build, and deploy cloud-native applications using Python and Azure.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and data products with Databricks and Snowflake.
• Build AI-powered solutions, APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications.
• Lead technical discovery sessions and translate business needs into architecture and implementation plans.
• Establish engineering, testing, security, automation, and technical excellence practices while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software, data, or platform engineering.
• Advanced Python development skills and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions in Azure, including distributed applications, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and serverless computing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps practices, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, modern data engineering frameworks, Snowflake, and analytics platforms.
• Experience building AI/ML applications, including Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, observability, and application performance management tools.
• Consulting or customer-facing solution delivery experience and collaboration with executive stakeholders.
