Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; no geographical preference within the U.S. The role requires U.S. Person status under ITAR/EAR export-control regulations.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 USD base salary per year, excluding benefits and bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate automation solutions for IT and business processes using Python, PowerShell, APIs, RPA, and enterprise platforms.
• Develop AI-powered and agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent tools.
• Orchestrate workflows across Azure, AWS, on-premises systems, Microsoft 365, and third-party SaaS platforms.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, testing, and deployment with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, error handling, retry logic, observability, and self-healing for production automation.
• Partner with IT, data, cybersecurity, and business operations teams while documenting solutions and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in automation engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Expert-level Python and PowerShell skills, including scripting, automation, API integrations, and Microsoft ecosystem tooling.
• Production experience with AI-powered or agentic workflows, REST APIs, workflow orchestration, and enterprise-scale automation.
• Required experience with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation; experience with Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, CI/CD, and cloud operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is highly desired, or equivalent hands-on experience and certifications.
• Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to comply with ITAR/EAR export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated or compliance-driven manufacturing environments.
• Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure AI, Microsoft Power Platform, RPA tooling, and observability platforms.
• Certifications in Microsoft, Azure, Terraform, AWS, or security.
