Elementary PE Teacher (Temporary)

Location: Rochester, NY, USA; in-person teaching role. Temporary position available immediately through around mid-December 2026.

Salary: $52,000–$68,000 per year.

What you will do

• Create a safe, interactive environment that encourages students to participate in physical activity.
• Teach physical education through sports, structured games, stretching, cardio, calisthenics, and team-building activities.
• Help students develop healthy habits, physical fitness, teamwork, and positive social-emotional skills.
• Build supportive relationships with students and families and connect them with appropriate learning resources.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and participate in school-wide meetings, coaching, mentorship, and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before employment begins, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
• Expertise or background in physical education, sports science and management, kinesiology, physical fitness, high school education, or collegiate athletics.
• Demonstrated interest in supporting K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Commitment to students’ social-emotional and academic development and to an anti-racist educational mission.
• Teacher certification is not required for hiring, but state teacher certification tests must be passed to meet Massachusetts requirements if hired.
• Availability to start immediately and work through approximately mid-December 2026.
