Supervisor, Assembly Quality (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; daily onsite attendance required. In-person meetings and events are part of the role, with occasional travel on behalf of the company.

Base salary: $95,000–$120,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead daily quality gate operations for vehicles, parts, and assemblies before release to the next process, final disposition, or customer-facing milestone.
• Supervise inspection flow, defect confirmation, containment, vehicle holds, rework coordination, and release readiness.
• Set team priorities through start-up meetings, staffing plans, performance reviews, and escalation routines.
• Monitor quality KPIs, defect trends, audit findings, containment actions, and throughput constraints; initiate countermeasures when targets are missed.
• Partner with Assembly, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Launch, and Production Control to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
• Coach and develop team members while supporting pre-series, launch, start-of-production, continuous improvement, safety, and quality activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, quality operations, assembly, inspection, end-of-line, or a related production environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading, supervising, coaching, or coordinating teams in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automotive technology, manufacturing, quality management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of quality gates, containment, defect verification, rework coordination, non-conforming material controls, audit readiness, and product release standards.
• Experience with structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, PDCA, layered process checks, or similar tools.
• Ability to interpret quality standards, work instructions, inspection criteria, escalation requirements, and objective evidence used for release decisions.
