Senior QA Engineer, Platform (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end functional testing for shared Platform services across API, event, and database layers.
• Design and validate service contracts, assess blast radius, and define regression scope for Platform changes.
• Build and maintain Java test automation with REST Assured and Postman, extending coverage with Playwright or Selenium where needed.
• Validate SQL data, event streams, persisted state, authentication, authorization, security fixes, and configuration consistency.
• Test asynchronous and event-driven flows, including retries, idempotency, ordering, and failure recovery.
• Integrate automated suites into GitLab CI/CD and partner with engineers to build testability into services from design onward.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or Software Test Engineer, ideally in B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS.
• Hands-on experience testing backend services, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and automated regression coverage.
• Proficiency with SQL and Java or another object-oriented language, plus experience with REST Assured and Postman.
• Ability to work with modern backend technologies such as Spring Boot, Postgres, Kubernetes, Kafka, Temporal, and Snowflake.
• B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong ownership, communication, exploratory testing, defect triage, and release-readiness judgment.

Nice to have

• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and GitLab pipeline experience.
• Knowledge of PII encryption, Kafka, Debezium, Temporal, or OpenTelemetry.
• Performance or load testing experience, feature-flag testing, or experience testing AI-powered applications.
• Knowledge of brokerage platforms and financial services, including margin, options, account types, and trade lifecycle.
