TL;DR
QA Automation Manager (Playwright/Selenium/Salesforce): Leading a team and transforming QA operations from predominantly manual testing to an automation-first practice across web, API, mobile, and Salesforce platforms with an accent on scalable test architecture, CI/CD integration, and people management. Focus on building production-grade automation frameworks, coordinating distributed teams, and driving 100% automation coverage, quality metrics, and infrastructure reliability.
Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, North Carolina; Hoffman Estates, Illinois; or Hudson, Ohio, United States. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

What you will do
- Manage, hire, develop, and retain automation engineers, including performance reviews and career development.
- Coordinate offshore automation resources across multiple time zones and maintain delivery accountability.
- Define and execute the transformation from predominantly manual QA to an automation-first practice, including frameworks, upskilling plans, and success metrics.
- Architect and scale automated testing across web, REST/GraphQL APIs, mobile applications, and Salesforce Lightning, components, flows, and APIs.
- Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines and cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Own quality metrics, test infrastructure, delivery risks, and continuous improvement across engineering and product teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct people-management experience within QA and automation engineering.
- Experience leading a manual-to-automation transformation and establishing its strategy, roadmap, frameworks, training, and metrics.
- Expert-level Playwright and/or Selenium experience, including production-grade automation architecture.
- Hands-on Salesforce automation experience covering Lightning UI, custom components, flows, and Salesforce APIs.
- Experience with API testing, mobile automation using Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest, and CI/CD test execution at scale.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, AI-assisted development tools, and communication with technical, business, and C-level audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience with load and performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or LoadRunner.
- Agile/Scrum experience and sprint-level QA planning.
- Advanced test data management knowledge.
