Facility Operations Technician, Radiopharmacy Materials & Waste

What you will do

• Receive, unpack, inspect, and distribute laboratory supplies, materials, and non-hazardous radioactive isotopes.
• Perform radiation surveys and wipe tests on radioactive material packages using survey meters and dosimetry equipment.
• Maintain receiving records, chain-of-custody documentation, radioactive material inventories, and waste logs.
• Track isotope decay status and stage materials for storage, further use, decay-in-storage, pickup, or disposal.
• Collect, segregate, label, and stage radioactive, chemical, and biological waste in accordance with safety procedures.
• Support inventory monitoring, housekeeping, equipment checks, calibration, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; science-related coursework or an associate degree is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and the ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills for inventory, logging, and email systems.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required radiation worker training and certification.
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, push, and pull for extended periods.
• Ability to work with required personal protective equipment, radioactive materials, chemical and biological waste, and potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.

Nice to have

• 0–2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, materials handling, laboratory operations, or facility work.
• Previous experience handling regulated chemical, biological, or radioactive materials.
