Chemical Operations Technician (Mill Operator-PMA) (Manufacturing)

Location: Hollister, California, United States. Onsite role with 10-hour day shifts, four days per week, and overtime availability.

Salary: $14.57–$27.07 per hour

What you will do

• Handle and process explosive powders, propellants, solvents, and energetic compositions in the Propellant Manufacturing Area.
• Weigh raw materials and operate industrial milling equipment, including loading, unloading, drying, and processing milled powders.
• Maintain accurate material movement records, inventory logs, traceability labels, travelers, and process paperwork.
• Deliver materials to production lines and support post-operation cleanup of facilities, equipment, vehicles, tooling, and containers.
• Participate in process hazards analysis, daily management meetings, 5S activities, FOD control, and process documentation updates.
• Cross-train in other propellant and explosive manufacturing activities as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read written instructions, perform basic arithmetic, prioritize multiple formulations, and complete documentation accurately.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand, stoop, and walk intermittently while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to handle bulk quantities of explosive materials and wear a full-face respirator; must pass a respirator fit test and have no beard.
• Ability to receive forklift training certification and work indoors and outdoors.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contractual requirements. Export-controlled duties require U.S. Person status or appropriate U.S. government authorization.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of manufacturing experience.
• Previous ordnance or energetics experience.
