Hardware Engineer, Power Design (Power Systems)

Location: Onsite in Kanata, Ottawa, Canada

Salary: CAD 74,200–118,400 annually

What you will do

• Develop power and ground systems for next-generation optical and Ethernet platform equipment.
• Design circuit-pack-level power solutions, including schematics and layouts.
• Collaborate with hardware and mechanical design teams and external suppliers to implement designs.
• Review design specifications, verification results, and performance with engineering peers.
• Coordinate component and subsystem delivery with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing organizations.
• Verify system and subcomponent designs using engineering and production prototypes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering degree.
• 5+ years of experience with electrical power systems in industrial or utility environments.
• Working knowledge of system power and grounding design, power component circuit-pack design, and product development cycles.
• Experience with power laboratory test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Product development experience in microelectronic power.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate degree in electronics or microelectronics power.
• Professional Engineer designation or eligibility.
• Knowledge of power and ground design standards for telecom and data center customers.
• Project management experience.
