Associate Verification Engineer (Hardware Testing)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid schedule with four days per week in the office and one day remote

Salary: CAD 74,900–93,600 per year, plus eligibility for short-term and long-term variable compensation.

What you will do

• Execute design verification tests on pre-production hardware using oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, thermal chambers, data loggers, and logic analyzers.
• Design verification test cases, create environmental test profiles, document results, and present findings and blockers for peer review.
• Develop Python and Linux shell automation for test equipment control, overnight testing, data analysis, plotting, and long-term hardware evaluation.
• Modify and rework prototype hardware, evaluate circuits, interpret datasheets, and support schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Perform low-volume SMT assembly and fine-pitch board rework using stencils and reflow equipment.
• Collaborate with Design, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Test Fixtures teams to identify root causes and improve product verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in hardware development and test automation.
• Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Strong Python scripting skills and familiarity with embedded C and Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, and thermal chambers.
• Strong communication and project management skills; successful candidates must complete a background check.
