Manager, Engineering

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; onsite five days a week. Required travel is up to 10% domestically and internationally. Relocation assistance is available within Canada. Canada work authorization sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $144,120–$180,300 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Direct the design, development, and delivery of innovative products, systems, and technology solutions.
• Create engineering strategies, roadmaps, processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Coordinate with engineering, product management, program management, and business stakeholders to align priorities and remove obstacles.
• Monitor engineering performance, quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, risks, and delivery progress.
• Oversee local facility management activities covering workplace infrastructure, equipment, operational services, safety, and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of operational, tactical, and strategic planning, decision-making, communication, technical excellence, and project management.
• Ability to manage people, resolve performance and workplace conflict issues, and collaborate across countries and cultures.
• Experience developing solutions to significant technical challenges and aligning engineering work with customer and business needs.
• Ability to work onsite in Montreal five days per week and hold Canadian work authorization.

Nice to have

• Fluency in English and French, written and spoken.
• Experience leading software, systems, or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Leadership experience in autonomous systems, robotics, automation, or related technologies.
• Experience with complex product development lifecycle projects and construction, mining, or heavy equipment industries.
• Experience with facility, laboratory, office, or operational site management.
