TL;DR
Inspector - Avionics/Electrical (Aerospace) (Avionics/Electrical): Inspecting avionics, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, and electrical components for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles with an accent on workmanship, traceability, configuration, and compliance. Focus on interpreting wiring diagrams and engineering drawings, identifying nonconformances, supporting first article inspections, and verifying flight-critical hardware.

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite at the Torrance facility

What you will do

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of avionics, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, and electrical components.
  • Inspect hardware against IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, engineering drawings, and internal workmanship standards.
  • Verify routing, terminations, pinouts, labeling, configuration, certifications, traceability, and lot-control documentation.
  • Document and communicate nonconformances while partnering with manufacturing and engineering to resolve inspection issues.
  • Support first article inspections, configuration verification, audits, and customer or government source inspections.
  • Maintain inspection records and help refine inspection procedures and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience inspecting avionics or electrical assemblies in an aerospace or defense environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Experience using multimeters, continuity testers, and other inspection or test equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical workmanship standards and flight hardware requirements.
  • Ability to detect subtle workmanship defects and maintain accurate quality records.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting R&D and early-production manufacturing environments.
  • Experience inspecting flight or mission-critical hardware.
  • Familiarity with digital documentation systems and quality records.
  • Experience collaborating across manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.
