Software Engineering Internship (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role typically based at the Chicago office, 20 S. Wacker. Summer internships last 10–12 weeks.

Salary: $21.68–$36.10 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain ultra-low-latency electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, and front-end trading interfaces.
• Build backend or full-stack applications that support the trading lifecycle.
• Work on cloud infrastructure, migration, application resiliency, and automation.
• Contribute to application development, data analytics, DevOps and CI/CD, research, proof-of-concept initiatives, and system design.
• Design AI agents and other customer-focused technology solutions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or a related field.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, continuous-learning, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment sponsorship assistance.

Nice to have

• Previous technical experience.
• Knowledge of cloud computing services, especially GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, IDEs such as IntelliJ, Linux/UNIX, Maven, REST APIs, SQL, and unit testing.
