Sr. Buyer/Planner (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Sunnyvale, CA; the role supports the Mountain View operation and requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Salary: $115,000–$150,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop material and production plans from program demand, bills of material, inventory, lead times, and capacity constraints.
• Maintain ERP/MRP planning parameters and convert authorized demand into purchase requisitions, purchase orders, work orders, and kit requests.
• Manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, tooling, outside processing, and other production goods and services.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, negotiate commercial terms, and manage supplier acknowledgments, commitments, and performance.
• Monitor shortages, past-due orders, quality issues, and supply risks while leading recovery, alternate-source, and schedule-mitigation actions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Receiving, Inventory, and Finance on configuration changes, discrepancies, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, an associate degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Experience using an ERP/MRP system for demand, purchase orders, inventory, planning parameters, shortages, or work orders in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of RFQs, bid evaluation, purchase-order administration, supplier negotiation, price analysis, and supplier performance management.
• Ability to interpret bills of material, technical drawings, specifications, part revisions, quality requirements, and contractual requirements.
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, decision-making, communication, and supplier-management skills.
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, space, or regulated high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
• Experience purchasing precision-machined parts, electromechanical components, raw materials, and outside or special processes.
• Knowledge of AS9100, FAR/DFARS, U.S. export controls, configuration control, and supplier-quality flowdowns.
• Experience with hirify.global Business Systems, Power BI, Lean manufacturing, or structured continuous improvement.
• APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, or a similar supply-chain certification; technical drawing and basic GD&T knowledge.
