Hardware Test Engineering Intern (3D Printing)

What you will do

• Develop, execute, and manage system, subsystem, and component-level validation test plans.
• Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis for field failures and electromechanical systems.
• Design, build, and implement automated equipment for subsystem characterization and reliability and environmental testing.
• Collaborate with design teams on risk assessments, continuous testing, and design reviews.
• Report test findings that inform future 3D printer features and settings.

Requirements

• Experience with complex electromechanical systems and product reliability.
• Experience developing and executing full-system test plans in fast-paced product development environments.
• Experience testing sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
• Ability to prototype and run tests from experimental setup through hardware and software implementation.
• Full-time availability for the Winter/Spring internship term from January through April.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Linux systems and scripting, preferably Python.
• Familiarity with HALT and HASS testing.
• A portfolio of previous engineering work or projects.
