FLS Production Engineer -FLS Production Engineer - G2M & Mechanical and Mechatronics Competency (Mechanical and Mechatronics)

Location: Wilton, Connecticut, United States; onsite work in the Wilton factory cleanroom. Compressed work-week schedules are available for D1, D2, and N1 shifts, including 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. shifts.

What you will do

• Provide first-line engineering support for production processes, spending approximately 75% of the time in the cleanroom.
• Troubleshoot mechanical assembly, glass-to-metal bonding, flow and thermal issues, module testing, final qualification, tooling, and test stands.
• Develop OCAPs, fishbone analyses, troubleshooting guidelines, manufacturing procedures, and technical work instructions.
• Support diagnostics qualification and implementation for production staff, including design and documentation reviews.
• Evaluate failed parts, propose solutions, and support DOA root cause analysis.
• Support cycle-time and labor-hour roadmaps and PFMEA implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, or Optical Engineering.
• Prior engineering internship experience and experience in a production environment with high-tech products and complex production processes.
• Working knowledge of mechanical assembly and alignment, mechanical tooling and test equipment, epoxy dispensing, processing and curing, and opto-mechanical designs.
• Ability to read and interpret optical, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python.
• Legally authorized to access controlled technology under United States export regulations before starting work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, statistical process control, FMEA, optical-electrical sensors, detectors, electro-optical devices, and opto-mechanical constructions.
• Knowledge of geometric optics, wave optics, Gaussian propagation, aberration theory, NX, Teamcenter, and SAP.
