Systems Engineering Intern (Hardware)

Location: San Bruno, California, United States

Salary: $35–$45 per hour, excluding benefits and potential equity.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and validation for new products.
• Build test setups and explore new ways to control electromechanical systems.
• Support system engineering tests with firmware and product design partners.
• Troubleshoot issues and drive system-level performance improvements.
• Develop prototypes and execute tests to move designs toward mass-production maturity.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, completed or in progress.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD; NX is preferred, while SolidWorks or Fusion are acceptable.
• Proficiency in rapid prototyping methods.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with FEA, thermal simulation, or statistical analysis.
• Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing, including DFM and DFA.
