What you will do

• Issue and manage purchase orders for materials and services based on MRP/ERP requirements and production schedules.
• Monitor open orders, expedite deliveries, and communicate supply status to internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms in partnership with Strategic Procurement.
• Maintain purchasing data in SAP and manage MRP exception messages, including reschedules, expedites, and cancellations.
• Work with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Production, and Accounts Payable to resolve shortages, quality issues, delivery problems, and invoice discrepancies.
• Track procurement metrics, support new product introductions, assess supply chain risks, and contribute to Lean and 5S improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and inventory replenishment in a high-mix production environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of MRP/ERP procurement processes and proficiency with SAP or comparable ERP systems.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of MRP, demand planning, inventory management, ISO 9001 purchasing controls, Incoterms, shipping, and logistics.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting new product launches or working with Engineering and R&D teams.
• Background in precision instruments, laboratory equipment, medical devices, or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
