TL;DR
Aerospace Manufacturing Industrial Engineer (Aerospace): Supporting the transition of aerospace product designs into manufacturing with an accent on design validation, manufacturability, assembly, and industrialisation processes. Focus on resolving assembly abnormalities, interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, and driving DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFM improvements.

Location: Broughton, Wales, United Kingdom; fully onsite

What you will do

  • Support the industrialisation of product designs by validating manufacturability and assembly feasibility.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing and assembly abnormalities, including one-way assembly breakdowns, rib clashes, and design-related issues.
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure products meet manufacturing, quality, and efficiency requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, notes, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Contribute to DFMEA and PFMEA reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assess tooling requirements and drive DFM improvements during product development and industrialisation.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialisation engineering, production engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Mandatory aerospace industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, manufacturing validation, engineering drawings, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Understanding of drilling, reaming, spot facing, machining, and assembly processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with new product introduction or industrialisation projects.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
