Electrical & Instrumentation Mechanic

Location: hirify.global Chambers Works Plant, Deepwater, New Jersey, United States. Onsite role with less than 5% travel. Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with possible overtime, extended shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $43.91 per hour base rate, with expected progression to $48.02 per hour after qualification. Additional union allowances may apply.

What you will do

• Maintain plant instrumentation and electrical equipment, including PLCs, control systems, transmitters, automated valves, sensors, motors, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, power supplies, panels, and lighting.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, dismantle, rebuild, install, and repair instruments, equipment, and components.
• Install electrical raceways, cable trays, and rigid conduit in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and daily production operations.
• Read and interpret P&ID drawings, manuals, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Coordinate with Production Technicians to identify and resolve production equipment issues safely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of basic electricity, PLCs, instrumentation, electrical safety, and the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings and use test equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to work with voltages up to 480V under NFPA 70E guidance.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, wear required PPE, and perform physical duties including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• ISA certification.
• Associate degree in Instrumentation or Engineering Technology.
• Experience in a chemical plant, refinery, or petrochemical environment.
