Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; onsite plant role.

Salary: $28.90–$41.91 per hour.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including injection and blow molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
• Maintain facility and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis systems, and water filtration equipment.
• Maintain industrial control systems, modify and lubricate equipment, and complete repairs safely and on time.
• Document repairs, work orders, parts usage, and material consumption throughout each shift.
• Work with operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve recurring and complex issues.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in maintenance or a similar field, in the position, and managing people or projects; experience may combine work experience and education.
• High school diploma required; an associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, automation, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process instrumentation schematics.
• Experience with shop equipment, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and industrial repair procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments, work independently, and provide technical leadership and training.
• Own toolbox and basic tools required.

Nice to have

• Six years of relevant experience, including work in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics.
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives and motors, PLC input/output cards, safety modules, and industrial communication systems.
• Experience with Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment; rotary fillers or presses; HVAC, chillers, and air compressors.
• Experience with 480VAC and 24VDC electrical systems, fabrication, cutting, and MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
