Technician - Engineer (Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite in Amarillo or Denver City, Texas, or Hobbs, New Mexico; approximately 40–50% travel required

What you will do

• Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose engines, compressors, turbines, pumps, fans, and related plant equipment.
• Conduct portable emissions testing, trailer tests, greenhouse-gas surveys, and leak surveys in accordance with state and EPA regulations.
• Operate vibration, emissions analysis, borescope, and other specialized equipment to collect and evaluate equipment data.
• Develop condition-based corrective actions and recommendations for gas compression and ancillary plant systems.
• Support equipment maintenance, failure analysis, technical training, and the development of operating procedures.
• Help identify and prioritize capital and operations and maintenance improvement projects.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience using specialized test equipment to address engine and compressor performance issues.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical engine and compressor operations and auxiliary systems.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers.
• Strong analytical, computer, mathematical, communication, organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons, enter confined spaces, climb elevated platforms, lift up to 50 pounds, wear required PPE, and travel approximately 40–50%.
