Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Cell Engineering

What you will do

• Derive and characterize stable cell lines from primary tissues, including through microdissection.
• Test cell culture conditions and delivery methods to optimize gene editing.
• Expand clonal cell lines for cryopreservation, genotyping, and quality-control assays.
• Collaborate on targeting, genotyping, and QC workflows and produce edited cell lines for downstream SCNT.
• Schedule, execute, and analyze experiments to meet project milestones.
• Maintain laboratory records and prepare project reports and presentations.

Requirements

• BA/BS/MA/MS in biological sciences, bioengineering, molecular biology, genetics, or a related scientific field.
• Experience deriving primary cell lines, optimizing cell culture, and cryopreserving cells.
• Experience with electroporation and transfection for gene delivery and cell viability optimization.
• Experience with immunostaining for flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy.
• Exceptional aseptic technique, including work with antibiotic-free cultures.
• Strong organization, communication, multitasking, and creative problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-throughput imaging platforms and data analysis.
• Experience with automated cell culture systems.
• Experience with stem cell culture, including mESC or iPSC systems.
