Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer (Storage)

Location: Remote in Maryland or Virginia, United States

Annual base salary: $141,400–$212,100 USD, with potential incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Understand customer business drivers and connect hirify.global and ecosystem technologies to measurable outcomes.
• Partner with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to develop sales strategies and generate new business.
• Provide technical leadership across storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, DAS, NAS, and SAN environments.
• Lead evaluations, benchmarks, system configurations, interoperability testing, and performance validation.
• Build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations, capture requirements, and translate business needs into solutions.
• Author RFI, RFP, and RFQ responses and collaborate with product and technical marketing on solution materials.

Requirements

• BS in computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Pre-sales experience and 8 or more years of relevant technology, design, and communications experience.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise storage architectures, including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, on-premises and public cloud environments, provisioning automation, and containers.
• Experience with Linux, NFS file systems, distributed networks, VMware, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
• Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical platforms to customers.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software sales.
• Familiarity with modern web architecture, LAMP, AWS Well-Architected Framework, microservices, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with Kubernetes, storage-intensive applications, SQL, Oracle, and structured databases.
