Lead AI Security Engineer (Agentic SOC)

Location: McLean/Tysons, Virginia, United States; on-site five days per week

Base salary: $150,000–$275,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, test, and deploy autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents integrated with SIEM, EDR, XDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Convert SOC playbooks and analyst workflows into deterministic and heuristic agentic pipelines using DAGs and multi-agent routing.
• Build and optimize production RAG workflows using security context, network topology, and historical incident data.
• Benchmark and improve LLM performance, context utilization, latency, and cost efficiency across open-source and commercial models.
• Design human-in-the-loop handoffs with Tier 3 analysts and threat hunters for complex anomalies.
• Secure LLM architectures against prompt injection, data poisoning, model tool abuse, and OWASP Top 10 for LLM risks.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 1.5+ years building LLM-powered applications.
• 5+ years of Python programming experience.
• 2+ years deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Strong software engineering, AI, mathematics, and practical security knowledge.
• Ability to investigate complex security problems, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
• Ability to work on-site in McLean/Tysons, Virginia, five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel.
• Production experience with Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, or Weaviate.
• Experience integrating Splunk, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, or Palo Alto XSOAR through REST APIs or webhooks.
• Experience scaling AI workloads in Kubernetes, EKS, or AKS environments.
• Knowledge of LoRA, QLoRA, Llama, or Mistral fine-tuning for security log analysis.
