Security Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Palo Alto, between the Palo Alto headquarters and San Francisco office

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and operate security foundations protecting production infrastructure, internal systems, and access to both.
• Design authentication, authorization, secure defaults, production hardening, and measurable access and recovery controls.
• Secure cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes workloads, software supply chains, endpoints, and deployment pipelines.
• Build centralized logging, alerting, detection, and audit infrastructure across cloud, SaaS, identity, and endpoints.
• Define access, privilege, constraints, and auditability for AI coding agents operating inside infrastructure.
• Ship automation and security controls across engineering teams while balancing risk reduction with adoption.

Requirements

• Significant experience building or operating infrastructure or security systems in production cloud environments.
• Deep experience in identity and authorization, cloud and Kubernetes security, or logging and detection platforms.
• Strong fundamentals in cloud, networking, secrets management, workload isolation, and production systems.
• Experience with secure deployment pipelines, artifact provenance, immutability, secret scanning, and software supply chain controls.
• Strong production coding and automation skills in Terraform, Python, Go, or similar tools.
• A track record of shipping security controls across engineering organizations and making practical adoption trade-offs.

Nice to have

• Experience with endpoint security, device trust, recovery planning, SOC 2, customer audits, or contractual security requirements.
• Experience securing AI or agentic systems.
