AI Security Engineer (Agentic SOC)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; on-site five days per week

Base salary: $100,000–$200,000 USD per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design, test, and deploy autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents integrated with SIEM, EDR, XDR, and threat intelligence feeds.
• Convert SOC playbooks and analyst workflows into deterministic and heuristic agentic pipelines using DAGs and multi-agent routing.
• Build and optimize production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation workflows using security context, network topology, and incident history.
• Evaluate and optimize LLM performance, context-window usage, latency, and cost across open-source and commercial models.
• Design human-in-the-loop handoffs with Tier 3 analysts and threat hunters for complex anomaly escalation.
• Implement security boundaries for LLM systems, addressing prompt injection, data poisoning, model tool abuse, and OWASP Top 10 for LLMs risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least four years of AI/ML development experience, or a related master’s degree with at least two years of experience.
• At least two years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
• Experience developing clean, production-grade, asynchronous code and designing robust system architecture.
• Practical understanding of cybersecurity, AI guardrails, and the risks of deploying AI agents in production.
• Ability to work on-site at the McLean headquarters five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience building AI services for security operations or threat intelligence.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or similar multi-agent orchestration tools.
• Production experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, or Weaviate.
• Experience scaling AI workloads in Kubernetes-based cloud environments, including EKS or AKS.
